About Scott Emigh
I've Always Been a Storyteller
I got my start in 2014 as a sports stringer for the Sand Springs Leader. I didn't know it at the time, but that first byline was the beginning of everything. I launched my own website — Sandite Pride News — and was covering the city of Sand Springs from high school football fields to city council chambers to the grand openings of local small businesses.
For nearly a decade I lived and breathed community journalism. I wrote for the Tulsa World, the Sand Springs Leader, the Owasso Reporter, and Vype Sports Magazine. I covered thousands of games, interviewed hundreds of people, and built something real in a town I love.
But somewhere along the way I realized something. I was so busy telling everybody else's story that I hadn't stopped to think about the one I was writing for myself.
Writing a New Chapter
That realization didn't happen overnight. It was a slow burn — the kind that sneaks up on you somewhere between deadline pressure and a paycheck that doesn't quite match the hours you're putting in.
So I made a decision. I pivoted my career from journalism to digital marketing. It turned out the skills that made me a good journalist — the ability to research, to ask the right questions, to write clearly for a specific audience — made me a really good content strategist too.
I went to work for Nozak Consulting, a Tulsa-based digital marketing agency, and worked my way up to Lead Content Strategist. Today I help dozens of businesses across the United States and Canada with SEO content strategy, copywriting, and brand messaging. I also co-own Small Town Travel Guide with my coworker Dave, where we help small towns tell their stories and attract visitors who are looking for something real.
The storytelling never stopped. The stage just got bigger.
Whether you're a business owner looking for content that actually moves the needle, or you're someone who's ready to make a real change — I'd love to be part of your story.
The Chapter That Changed Everything
In 2022 I married my wife Charity. And when we found out we were going to have a son, something shifted in me in a way I can only describe as a calling.
I wanted to be a man worth following. Not just a good employee or a decent guy — but someone who was actively building something. A man my wife could count on, my son could look up to, and my God could be proud of.
I got serious about my health. I got serious about my finances. I got intentional about my faith. I started asking bigger questions about what kind of legacy I was building and what it would look like when Jordan is old enough to look back at his dad's life.
That pursuit — of becoming a more complete man in every area of life — is what eventually led me to life coaching and financial coaching. I'm not a therapist or a licensed advisor. I'm a guy who figured some things out the hard way and genuinely wants to help other people get there faster.
Where I Am Today
I live in Sand Springs with Charity, our son Jordan, and our cats Jocy and Rusty. I'm still a storyteller — just with more chapters than I started with.
By day I lead content strategy for Nozak Consulting. I blog about travel, fatherhood, faith, and self-improvement. I co-run Small Town Travel Guide. I'm working on a novel, and I have a children's book sitting in a drawer waiting for the right moment.
I'm also building something new — a coaching practice for people who are ready to stop drifting and start leading their own lives.
Whatever brought you here, I'm glad you found your way. Stick around. There's a lot more story to tell.
