Reflecting on 2025 and Vision Casting for 2026

And that’s a wrap on 2025’s fitness goals! I lost 33.8 pounds and significantly improved my body composition, strength, and overall fitness but I’m just getting started.

I made a commitment this year that I will always be able to play with my son as long and as hard as he wants me to. The day he can outlift or outrun me will be because he busted his ass to get there; not because dad wouldn’t take care of himself.

The job’s not finished!

My 2026 goals include:

  • 7 workouts a week

    • Sunday Legs

    • Monday Triceps & Shoulders

    • Tuesday Abs

    • Wednesday Back & Biceps

    • Thursday Legs

    • Friday Chest & Abs

    • Saturday Back

  • Daily mobility and longevity work.

  • 10,000 steps a day no matter what.

  • 3 runs per week

  • Visible abs by June.

Finishing 75 Hard yesterday taught me a lot about what I’m truly capable of but I know I’m only scratching the surface of the potential I’ve been wasting all these years. I rediscovered the joy of reading, the importance of sunlight and fresh air even when the weather sucks, and how great life is without distractions like alcohol. I plan on continuing a lot of the principles of 75 Hard for life.

I’ll be easing up on the calorie deficit but still going to make sure I’m in a recomposition diet till those abs pop. Still going to get my gallon of water a day but that’s easy - I did that even before 75 Hard.

Some non-fitness goals for 2026:

  • Continuing to read a chapter a day, alternating between fiction and nonfiction books. I miss my fiction. Aiming for 24 books this year.

  • Starting my day reading a physical bible each morning.

  • Decreasing screen time and being more present.

  • Certain professional goals I’m not ready to put out there just yet.

  • Building stronger relationships with some men who can inspire me, hold me accountable, and grow with me.

  • Get back into hunting and fishing. Those were big parts of my childhood that I quit 20 years ago but want to share with my son.

Looking back on 2025 I accomplished many of my goals that I set last year. I took on a more active role in our kitchen and cooked a lot this year. We succeeded in getting involved in our church and have been serving in our nursery monthly and I attended a few men’s events this year. I successfully got back into reading and crushed my goal of a book per month.

Three things I failed at but will keep trying to do is blogging on my personal website, finding the margin to invest (this inflation has been rough), and networking. I’ll spend some time reevaluating how to tackle those better.

What are your goals for 2026? What did you accomplish in 2025?
